Kitchen Reno

Most of my friends feel that I am blessed being married to a builder. Anyone married to a builder knows better. My kitchen reno started last February and here we are a year on.... see what I mean!

You may think the sink area is finished but we still have to put in the sliding windows that will open up to the outdoor entertaining area. The marble top was put on but not sealed and is now etched with the juice of every tomato or lemon that happened to come into contact with it. We were always going to hone it to get rid of the polished look... so not a huge problem but not finished.

Note the ugly void between the French doors and the fridge? Now a dumping ground for all our bits and bobs. My vision here is a modern take on and old kitchen dresser. Drawers are in....just need the door fronts and the glass and white, timber display cabinet above.

The patches in the ceiling need filling and the floor..mmm. Would love to be brave and paint them white but I'm not convincing hubby on that one, so will probably give them a light liming.

Hopefully, I can show you the finished kitchen before February next year!!!!!

Tree House Envy

The time has come to build our son his long time coming... tree/cubby house. It was supposed to be built at our last house and If we don't do it now... he won't be able to fit in it the way he is growing.

Its amazing what you find when you start looking... What child wouldn't want their bedroom to look like one of these divine rooms from Dutch website
Kids Factory
. These would have to be every child's dream come true. A pity we don't have the ceiling height.

I think I may have found the perfect tree house for our backyard, thanks to Inside Out Christmas issue. The styling is By Shannon Fricke and I wouldn't be surprised if it is her own tree house on her stunning property in Bangalow. The beautiful image is by Prue Ruscoe... Thank you so much... now if only I had that tree!

Rooms that make you go mmm......

I love white rooms that look like they have been collected over time, where rustic furniture and vintage accessories add warmth and character. Here are some of my favourites...

Photo courtesy of Living etc ... They have an amazing photo gallery that will keep you busy for hours.

Another gorgeous magazine Skona hem

Another Scandinavian kitchen..sorry I can't remeber where this is from but will keep searching.
